Art Tomorrow!!!

Dear readers, I am bailing on you this morning.

Yesterday I had a day that, for the most part, was spent in making art. I, of course, did not photograph the process, simply because it felt so good to be doing it!!! I did not want to clean my hands or stop at any part to break the flow. This is not fancy canvas art; it is working with paper that would otherwise be disposed of, and it turned out lovely. It was playtime, experiment time, just chill to WWOZ and go with the jazz time!
I got some photos shot of the semi finished pieces and decided that today is going to be another art day too.
Yes, I am being a bit self centered, eh?  ;-)
Tomorrow, I fear, wil be a run-run-run day so I am just putting myself first on this one.
And last evening, while impatiently awaiting the season finale of "Sons Of Anarchy", I drew my first two ATCs. Now how far behind the real world am I??? They were so much fun! If my hands had held out, there would have been two or three more, but as most artists know---when the hands quit, YOU quit. How easy to make those and attach them in some manner to a greeting card.......or for a Christmas ornament......possibilities!
I did get an e-mail about the one commission I had been awaiting more info on and it will be a go--have to reply and see if my answers meet with their needs and then we're set! (and I can publish the working sketch on here! YAY!!!)
So while there are no pics today, I feel like this little blog-burp is a most significant one and hope it suffices for the moment.
I wish you all the joy of creativity, the time to pursue it and the freedom of a child with a new box of Crayolas (yes, the BIG box!) and a ream of paper!
Go make something!

Pax.

I so love anything Crayola - just wish it wasn't all made in China - lots of great art ideas for kidlets at Christmas. Take care running around (in all aspects!)...

Hi Linda,

Yep, I hate that everything has gone to China for production, and I was kind of hinting to *Santa* that I would enjoy their crayon making toy.....
If I ever grow up! ;)
Have a good one Linda---I need to read your blog--I am so far behind on everyones and do apologize.

Have a great day!

Now Marilyn, do I seem like the type to stay in the lines???? LOL!!!
They are good for color on fabric; I think the regulars did just as well if not better than the ones they produced for fabric.
I love the smell of a box of new Crayolas!

Today is a run-run-run day for me...Miss Daisy Day. My mother wants to finish her gift buying TODAY!!! I still have a few things to get, but I first need $$...can't just walk in and assume they'll fall for my loveliness and just give it to me!!! hahahaha!!

Tomorrow, will head across town, pick up the youngest child, 24 years old but my baby, and take him to my mother's so he can get a pedicure.... he has awful problems with ingrown toenails. Then it's home and back into the studio. Oh congrats on the new venture.

Need to run, the Chihuahuas are being royal pains...want attention and I've got to get ready.

Love ya,
G

Hey Marianne,

I never could understand the pull of ATCs. I thought, okay, little piece of paper...big deal...
Yeah! They're quick and fun! So when I go to the hospital, a pack of the blanks may go with me... :)
I'll post pics tomorrow---it's not earth-shattering but fun stuff!

Pam, I vote for ANY kind of coffee!!! And if I wasn't full of decongestant, I'd go fix a double strength cup NOW and toast you!
Hope you get some art time so we can all stay semi sane....LOL!!!!

Georgina, my dear, I do NOT envy you your day.....I'm thinking hot soak in the tub would help these bones feel more like running up and down the studio steps a few more times!
Take care; won't say have fun.
I don't wanna get slugged!

Since I slept thru the SoA season finale, don't say another word about it until Sat. when I get to see the repeat, I am avoiding spoilers.

Re: Crayolas, it makes me so mad that all my favorite things are getting sent to China to be produced. Bah!

Ah, A kindred spirit!!!! Jax is hot-hot-hot! >:) All I'll say is I wish they didn't have so darned many commercials! And I'll say it was good; hang on for a thrill-ride!!!
Yeah, I'm with you on the anti-china bandwagon. Try and buy American.
Anyway, I need to get the pix up for the blog tomorrow to prove I really DO use the studio....LOL!!!
Oh, DH nicknamed me *Annecro* after a nasty little situation I took care of in no uncertain terms.
I was so flattered!

I don't know who Jax is but if he's as hot as that I wanna meet him! Is he a character in that TV program? I don't get that station. Oh that's right, I don't get any stations!

ATC's are addictive. I think you might have to be giving them out for Christmas pressies because you won't be getting anything else done!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Yep, he's on Sons. They have the first season out on DVD and also there's a website for the show, with a pic of him on his Harley.
Nice eye candy! :)
I'm not even sure I could get enough ATCs done to mail out for Christmas. I think folks are just going to have to accept *all my love*!!!

Believe it or not, we have a Crayola plant here in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada! Not sure if they still make the crayons here though. At least some of it hasn't been outsourced (yet).
I was planning a creative day today too. Wonder why it didn't happen!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey MA,

I wonder if they do the toys or the crayons? (these things are important to me......LOL!!) Or maybe they package and distribute.
I'm not sure an adult of my age should be so concerned over this....HA!
Seriously, that's cool!!!

hi Anne
I don't know exactly what they do here. I know they used to make crayons & pencil crayons. Every year they have a charitable sale of their products which is a huge deal. They generally have people lining up all night so they can be first in line. I used to go when my kids were small & stock up on craft supplies for them. They'd have big bins of just one colour crayon and you could grab as many as you wanted. The sale took place in a very large building so there was lots of space for the bins. Great fun, if you don't mind hordes of people!

Thank you for stopping by today and I do know how exhausting a migraine can be...I think the month is creeping up on you and you need a quiet moment to walk...even if it is cold like they are predicting...being one with Nature...sitting outside on the deck with a cup of HOT coffee or delicious Tea. I am plugging along with the Christmas decorations in the house and chain stitching spirals onto my wandjini spirit on my quilt. Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen

You are in my prayers and I am sending White light.

OMG, MA!!!

How fun!!! I think, though I am NOT a crowd person, I would endure that crowd! A warehouse of crayolas that you can grab color by the handful!!!! Wonderful!!

Hey MAry Helen,

I always read even if I don't post----I've been so short on time that sometimes it's just read-time and note comment time.
It's all creeping up on me and giving me the creeps too! LOL!! I want it done so I can see what state I am left in and how much PT.
Will probably post the sketch for the church hanging tomorrow.....
Thanks my friend for thinking of me.
