A Quick Update From Germville.......

.....I'm sure this is true, but I cannot say either DH or myself feel FREE from all poisonous substances!!! LOL!
Just popping into this germ-free-zone for a quick hello. We made it to the Dr, we have the regular flu now, at least DH does (and being the overacheiver he is, he has it quite well) but I may have gone straight into a sinus infection.
So! I got the heavy duty meds, DH didn't and somehow it seems backwards, although I learned a long time ago there are certain bugs you just suffer through. They run their course and make you as miserable as possible during the hosting period.
Today I will be working on the banners, then I have a  funeral home visit I have no choice but to make this evening, and a funeral tomorrow that I may have to read in place of DH. That's just how it is. I'm a whole lot healthier than him thankfully.
In the midst of all this bedlam, my brain decided to kick in and solve a few more dilemmas with said banners, which is good, and I got a tiny bit of work done yesterday. (in between the florist, the doc, and an HOUR at the drugstore waiting for scripts......) Will take the few minutes I have today and put them to good use, as I can.
I'll be back when I am either:

A)  Done with the banners and have pics
B)  Tired of working and being the nurse and need escape
--or--
C)  When I am well

Or, as with any woman, I have the right to change my mind and I might be back tomorrow just to blow off steam......one never knows.
As of now, we are doing as okay as possible but flu sucks rocks and I want it gone immediately! (Like it's listening....ha!)
Hope you all have a creative day!!!

Pax.

Hey Gypsy,

I'm telling you, it has been a real experience, to say the least! LOL! When the Doc came in with goggles, a mask, a disposable coat and rubber gloves, I knew we were in the middle of bug-heaven! (of course I had to threaten to snap the mask on him if he didn't behave.....)
Yeah, I'll be here as I can.....sometimes you just need to take a break and write, you know? Escape the reality? ;)

LOL!!! OH You are simply Hilarious Anne! I'm so sorry that the germs have you and your household under arrest! Should I send Sasha over?? She's good for getting rid of colds and flu and low sex drives LOL! You are simply a joy Anne even when you don't feel well. Laughter maketh like a medicine and I hope that you will laugh yourself right into good health. You post still has me in tears. You have been blessed with two fabulous talents. Beautiful artwork and Mad crazy sense of timing and humor!! Feel better Sweetie and get some rest.

You poor thing. It just doesn't end, does it?
Well, keep in mind that soon the banners will be complete, you and DH will both be well, Christmas bells will ring, beautiful white snow will fall, you can make beautiful art to your hearts content and you can snug up on the couch with tea and a good book and RELAX!
Wishing all these good things for you and hoping you will both get well quickly and stay that way!!!!

Oh the joys of going out into the real world, bringing home someone else's cooties. Get better soonest!

Hey Vanessa,

I always wanted to be in Burlesque....can't you tell??? ;)Seriously, what a fun time that was in entertainment, when it was all live and seat of the pants!
We're going to be okay--eventually; I just worry about DH.
Yes, I think Sasha would definitely provide some *relief*, even if it is a leering grin, to the current situation!
LOL!!!

Oh Lord Audrey---don't let me start freaking about Christmas! Told DH this morning that T-day may be a sandwich and a pot of gumbo, and he was most agreeable to that! (I love him.....)
I just was *WELL*. That's all.
Going to go sew on the living room floor, where the parakeets can think--or be SURE--they are the center of the known universe and I can keep an ear open for hubs.....
Then I'm scheduling my nervous breakdown, complete with Martinis..... ;) ......and bunny slippers.

Hey Leslie,

I swear, the next time Gary teaches, I am sending him in Military Chem Gear. That's where this crap is coming from. We BOTH are, for the first time in years, seriously considering both flu shots, eventhough it scares me to death.
To quote The Ramones:
"I wanna be well.....I wanna be well....I wanna, wanna, wanna, wanna......." :)

Anne, ju toooo fonny!!! I hear ya, sista, about that flu crap. Luckily, I had my flu shot already and am now getting over the oinker flu, but I concur, flu sucks rocks, wieners, boogers, etc. Are you sure you should go out tonight...not good for you...I'm sure if they knew you had the flu, they'd be very grateful for not showing up, I know I would!!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my newest edition to my dollies and the one I sent out....she's pretty messed up, huh??? Here everyone did these really cutsie things, but not Georgina...oh nooo, she took the rules literally...something that lived in you closet or under your bed as a child that scared you!!!! Thusly, I did!!!!! As for the banshee visiting me, oh yes, my dear, got some of that Celtic stuff going on in my DNA...get this, my great-great grandfather met my great-great grandmother in Paris...he was in a traveling dance show from Barcelona and she was in something similar from Ireland...she was an Irish Jew...I thought there was no such thing!!! LOL Jews in Ireland!!! Anyway, explains why I always felt at home in my neighborhood of 95% Jews, a couple of Episcopalians, one Methodist and a couple of Catholics!! I'm just a Heinz 57!!

Well, get to feeling better and take care of yourself.

Love ya,
G

or maybe all three!

You seem to get a lot of air-borne viruses - colds and flues, etc. Do you use that Lysol air "purifier?" Supposedly, it kills that stuff that is flying around in even the cleanest homes.

Hope you're up and around real soon!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh Georgine----you make me laugh! Okay, you qualify for the Banshee, and I retract my previous statement.
As to me, the Doc thinks it is more allergic Sinus infection (soy beans, corn harvest, dust mold, etc) So I don't feel too concerned going out. Gary, however, is another story.....always! And he is staying IN.
My god girl, you tell the best stories---there has to be good Southern Blood in you!!!

Hey Tristan,

It is from having a low white blood count (leukopenia, to be fancy!)and low Vitamin D. If there is a bug anywhere, I catch it. It's been this way all my life, from when I was a little kid and a strep throat carrier. I guess for me it's just another allergy season! It is, however more unusual for DH, though I think the teaching is what has got him. He is going to HAVE to give in to a flu shot. We both have had bad reactions before, so it's a big decision. Still thinking.....
I go through more sanitizing products than *Monk*.....and was almost freaking in the grocery store when I was thinking about all the people who touched stuff I had to pick up...with gloves on I might add! LOL!!!
Healthwise, I get this from Dad's side of the family.....bronchial hell.

Oh Anne, I do love your sense of humor even in the throws of terminal flu! Well, that's probably what it feels like. I just read your comment about your parakeets...my neighbor has two in a cage hanging from the vaulted ceiling and just the other day they came crashing down! Destroyed the cage but the little cheeps are okay...one may be wearing a neck brace and I did see little crutches in the new cage! **kisskiss** Deb

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Oh they are MAD at me because I am sewing and not paying the proper homage to them.....PEEP! MUACK!
I don't know how so much sound comes out of such a little tiny body!!! And that was from the SWEET one; the ornery one is ignoring me...LOL!!
Hope the other Peeps are okay; I would not dare suspend their cages as ornery-boy learned how to shoot poop out the side of the cage.....
My life..... <:{

Holy Toledo, Anne! What is going on over there in your part of the country? Do I have to don my haz-mat suit and come rescue you two? You have the creeping crud, as my ma would say. Not much you can do, I guess, except wait it out, but I have to say a funeral when you are feeling ill just seems extra awful. I'm so sorry - please feel better, we need you back in fighting form! xoxo Pam

Hey Teri,

If you KNEW my one bird, you would not think that unusual at all. He is a feisty little fireball, and I swear, he laughs at me after he does something he shouldn't.
Well, he fits in this family quite well......LOL!!!

Oh Mary Helen, you MORE than had your hands full! Glad you could make the trip safely; I will check your blog when I get a chance. Kind of groggy and feeling not too good at the moment; may resort to a good soak in the tub to perk me up and of course my current arsenal of meds and supplements.
You take care, especially with the little ones!
