I Was A Winner Too!!!

I should have had this posted a while ago, but in the hustle and bustle of life, work, and my normal state of cluelessness, well, I FORGOT.
The Quilt Rat is one of my favorite fiber art blogs. Jill has more talent in her little finger than I think I do in most of my body---she does some excellent work and is constantly sharing her experiments on her blog.
She had a give away a while back and some of the prizes were the quilted fiber postcards she had made (mine, pictured here). Naturally, I assumed I would win nothing because normally I win nothing but it seems since I started blogging, my luck has improved some! I have won prizes in two give aways and it makes my little heart happy!
(ahem! back to the post Anne.....don't wander....)
Her work is amazing.....the photos of the cards  on her blog are very nice, but the real deal in your hand is quite another story. I have stared and stared at the quality of the work, and by the way---the image on this is all hand drawn.
Yes.
Not a fabric print.
It is a lightbulb, but I discovered if I turned it upside down, the symmetry is such that it reminds me of a bottle, a Southwestern gourd vessle.....and I like it both ways!

If you've not already visited, do check her blog. Even if you don't *do* fiber art, you will be impressed by the art talent!
A very belated Thanks Jill!!!
In public, where all can see! ;-)

Pax.

Great card - quite like the "Southwestern" feel to it. I'll head over to check out her blog. Hope it's a productive day for you!

Hi Linda,

I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw the Southwest in the card! what a great design that it works both ways!
Moving slow, but will be at the tables soon...stayed up watching the Yanks! (should have gone to BED....) But it was cool seeing them win!

Hey Tristan,

Yes, the blog has been the only place I've ever won ANYTHING!!! And I'm not complaining---it's just, well, odd I guess!
Teri, who won your pen, lives about 7 min. drive from me.....I think I'll tell her I'll snitch it... >:)
Sorry I was being such a smart aleck yesterday....I was just full of it and it overflowed! HA!

Hi Anne.
Congratulations on your win of this little quilt card. I did visit The Quilt Rat Blog at your suggestion and found her work to be wonderful. There are SO many talented people out there. I could spend days just looking at Blogs! As it is, I spend nights doing that. I no longer sleep. LOL!
It is true about the winning. I, too, have been blessed with a few wins of Blog give-aways. Before Blogging ~ zip wins of anything!!
Just one more reason Blogging is so great. Seriously, I couldn't imagine life without it now.
(:

Hi Audrey,

Me either! It is such a neat way to connect with people and see loads of excellent work, have a support system, and just have fun!
I have a heck of a time keeping my blog-time to a minimum.....waiting on the steam generator to heat now, so I can peck and not feel guilty! LOL!!!
Also have DH home sick....you know what that entails..... <:{

Hey Pam,

So sorry about the internet issues; you know how I feel about that!!! Plus that is your link to BUSINESS!!!
BUT.
Glad the box got there and you had fun pilfering it! I was hoping that someone else would find the stuff cool.....you know I live in my own little world and occasionally wonder if my taste is relevant! HA!
Have a great time with it!!!
And hope the internet is back....maybe it rained in New Delhi.....oh, did I say THAT???

Oh my goodness Anne, I feel absolutely honoured to be the "feature" of today's post.

You know one of the reasons I started my blog was to just be creative and put it out there whether I thought it was worthy or not.......I am totally blown away by the wonderful responses I receive from readers every day.
You have been a constant source of encouragement and it means a great deal to me..........Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!

I just may have to take a look at my other doodles upside down.....There is always more than one way to see anything isn't there?

Hey Jill,

It always takes someone else to see what I've done in a *new* way....I think we have in our minds what we think it is, and often I cannot see past it. But with your card, eventhough I knew what it was, it kept reading Southwest gourd bottle....which is fine!
I'm delighted I found you and that you're on here today!
Welcome to the madness of my blog! LOL!!!

Add a straw basket and you have a hot air baloon. Lovely work. I hope you are well today. I thought of you as I had my coffee and how your hip is adapting to the turning of cool to cold. Hugs. Tammy... thank for the suggestions!

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hey Tammy,

I hadn't thought of the baloon! Cool how we all see different things in work!
Actually, the hip is doing pretty good today; I've been busy sewing---taking a break as the weight of the FIRST banner kind of did me in doing free-motion work.
Hope one of the suggestions yields some good for you---I'm kinda in the same boat.
Take care!
