Blog Prizes Mailed.....

....I got out the door yesterday with everyone's goodies; I am not sure when they shall arrive but when you receive them, if you could pop me an e-mail please?
I am diligently working on the sewing---it's coming along nicely though, as usual, I have exhausted myself and frankly, my fingers hurt from needle-pulling! It's all good though. And yes, the pic is where I wish I was, in the French Quarter, enjoying life and some good food. Instead I settle for listening to WWOZ.org on the computer and dream......check it out if you love Jazz, Blues and NOLA based music!
Can't wait to get back on here full time as my giant brain is overflowing!!!! (or something is dribbling out of my head, and I figure it must be *important thoughts* that need to be shared---LOL!) But it is again, nose to the grindstone, or in this case, pins, needles and sewing machine.
I quickly cruised through a couple of blogs, seeing pics of wonderful work and it makes me long for the wet studio and time to paint.......oh, not soon enough! Those of you having the time to do this; I thoroughly ENVY you at the moment!  ;-)
I miss you all---take care of yourselves as more and more of my friends are coming down with what appears to be the same virus DH and I had. I mean that in all sincerity---take care of yourselves and your kin.
I bid you all good health, rest,  creativity, and of course, as always.....

Pax.

Glad to hear you are okay. I missed you yesterday - my days don't seem complete without reading you first thing in the morning!

I am so pleased for you, since you so often write of wanting focused work time. Well, looks like you're right in the middle of that, so enjoy it while it lasts. Glad you're making progress : ))

Hey Linda!

I miss writing it too, but did get a whopping amount done. The body is saying rest today, but maybe by afternoon......
I hate close deadlines; I have never worked that way!
And I miss letting my brain dribble into the blog....LOL!!!!I really have come to enjoy writing and miss the communication with all y'all when I'm off here.
And now, I'm just OFF.... ;)

Hi GAyle,

Yesterday was great; I may have to rest today, then back at it tomorrow but I got a lot of *problems* figured out mentally yesterday and you know how that's half the battle.
My knees need a rest from crawling under the tables, from one side to the other! A studio re-arrange may be in order when These are done...

Uh-oh, we are crawling around on the floor again, are we? Your poor hip. Well, that will be on the mend soon enoogh. I believe we will all give a big sigh of relief when you have completed the banners. I know they will be gorgeous when they're finished.
Have another productive day, Anne. I look forward to reading all those "thoughts" you are storing up!
((hugs))

Anne! I can't wait to get my goodies. Yipeeeee!!! I will definitely send you a note. :) So glad you've made some progress on the banners. It's such a busy time of year. Need to FREEZE TIME!!!! xoxoxox Pam

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Audrey--just packaging your heart order! (thump! thump! LOL!!)
The crawling is worse on the knees than the hip, though I was up on the tables yesterday and broke through the foam...... <:)
Hey, I have to keep y'all entertained....coming back for more! HA!

Hi Deb--

I actually need to get DH to get a picture of ME working on the d*mned banners; on top the table, on the floor, trying to reach too far while standing on a chair...I'm worse than Milo for climbing and getting into things!
there WILL be pics....

Hey Pam....
You said it; after Halloween it seems like the year disappears. Where, I don't know but way too fast.
I really hope you like what is in the box; some of it is odd.....consider the source! HA!
We both need Freeze Time---let's abscond to New orleans and be Pirates!!! LOL!!!

you were crawling under tables?

is that what the doctor suggested as good p.t. for your hip?

just curious

:P

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Dear Tristan.....

Smart Ass!!! Well, he did not say that I *couldn't*...... (rolls eyes innocently)
And the room is blocked off, cut in half for need of space, and I can't reach from one side to the other, soooooo......it's under or over, and under is safer! LOL!!!
You'd do the same thing and you know it! >:)
No, you'd be smart enough to have a more organized space.....
Back to my humbling and crawling....

I don't think I want to know what you managed to do to yourself when you 'broke through the foam'. Oh dear. Ummm...might I make a suggestion that perhaps (after this particular project is done) you should limit yourself to doing smaller things that don't require you to act like a contortionist?

I'll be watching the mail and will let you know when it arrives. Can't wait!
Cheers

Sounds like you have been busy!!
Thanks so much for the kind words... I think if it wasn't for caring for my Mother I would not have "pushed the panic button"!
I appreciate your caring. You are a true friend!
Love,
Marilyn

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Well MA, you certainly can take the *excitement* out of it all!! LOL!!!
I was leaning across the foam, thought it was on the cardboard box support underneath (oh yes, THAT'S STABLE!!! HA!)...anyway, I missed it and just put a hand through with a LOT of bad words, then had to smack the foam back into shape, flat.
Unfortunately, the PAYING work I do is all big stuff, and the studio is not arranged for permanent workspace to deal with it, nor can I afford to have tables built for it....so we have little *adventures* here. ;)
And everyone is entertained!

Hi Marilyn,

Hey, it's a tough road we walk....my panic button is in perpetual *pushed* state it seems. I understand. I cared for my mother for 2 1/2 years, and still, to this day, I can vividly see some of the situations that I would prefer to forget.
Take care and take it easy, or as much as possible.......rest. Like I would be able to follow any of that advice..... ;)

I have been highly unproductive the last couple days. The meds are making very tired and weak. It will pass and soon enough I will be busy as a bee once again. Here's hoping your fingers will have breaks (not literally mind you), your brain will find peace and your ears buried in the sounds of jazz from T'ti's in Orleans carry you through the drudgery of time and pressure. :-O) Hugs. Tammy

Anne Huskey-Lockard said...

Hi Tammy,
I am sure you are like me; I hate being unproductive and am glad to have days of good production and accept the slower days.
the cold today is going straight through me--I'm taking it easier than I thought I would but should be back full swing tomorrow.
And honestly, I am excited about how these will look, so I am fighting impatience to get to *done* so I can photograph them! (just like a little kid....I know!)
Take care and stay warm! Hope you're back to a decent energy level soon!

I want to send you white light to ease your pain as you work so industriously. I have been a hankering to get the paints out and flowing and play play play!!!! We are headed to Marion on Saturday morning but I will have precious cargo in tow with me...the little ones are a surprise for Grandma's 89th ...plus the family is gathering to decide what to do to help her continue to live independently in her little house. Wish me luck...this could be tricky to say the least!!! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

YES!!! At least to the dreaming part; I'm not much on sweet drinks so I'll be the one with the bucket of ice and Abita dark beers!!!! ;)

Oh Mary Helen, it sounds like you will have your hands most full this weekend. I hear you!
I slept in this morning and am slowly working my way into the day.....I have one speed, and don't think it's changing.
Plus I feel like a cold is coming on.
Always.....HA!
Have fun with your family!!!!

Hey Julie---
YES! I need a work hurricane!
Last night Gary told me I needed a studio assistant, and I agreed, but said they would be paid with the joy of my company and that was IT. He said, "Well, that's what Andy Warhol did with his people...." I smiled...I'm not Andy! He meant well! :)
