Welcomes From The Lazy Blog-Mistress.....

(golden moments....they pass us by too quickly, on the road to bare landscapes and warm coats...)
Two more WELCOMES officially to followers of the blog! Greetings and salutations and happy you are here!
Alas, this sleeping in business is getting addictive! I did not get to a post yesterday evening due to the couch and knitting needles calling my name, and the fact that I had spent too much time on the leg and it was calling out a few things too....none of which can or should be repeated here!
DH was looking at the final collage from the tutorial I had posted here and thought it was lovely. I looked at it guiltily, thinking, I need to post those shots and then a link to the original tute. It seems there are a lot of things that need doing today, the least of which is the restocking of the groceries and I detest that job worse than cleaning up after the raccoons that delight in trashing my porch.
Halloween is almost upon me and I have not had the time to drag out the old horror films and watch them......one of my favorite things. Sorry, all this new cinema can't compare with the pre-digital effects days where make up and true acting and atmosphere and camera technique MADE you chill and shiver! Sometimes it was as much what you didn't see as what you did. Sweeping scores that weren't mixed in so loud that they would blow you out of the room, that one moment when the screech of violins stopped and the full THUD of the orchestra made an exclamation point as the monster appeared! Ah, and black and white......the art of making up and dressing for the camera, so the greys would be appropriate. What skill.
Instead, as with the rest of the world, it's work, work, work........of course I've not helped that situation myself, but dang. October should be a month of Holiday to prepare and savour the time of ghosties and ghoulies and the gentle transition to Fall.
I spent the evening trying to get shots of the lights on my banister, with the camera secured to the tripod. We'll see today how those worked out. I am not, repeat...NOT a night time photographer. That is another skill all together.
Instead, I am closing quickly as I mentally prep myself for the zombies and other slow moving monsters filling the grocery aisles, and trying to remind myself that even in my present condition, and with a cart full too, I can out run them!!!! ;-) (I really hate grocery shopping....could you tell???)
Thus, I bid you adieu, and to have a frightfully creative day....even if you are fighting the store zombies on cell phones! LOL!!!
Pax.

Good Saturday morning, Anne.
I HATE, HATE, HATE, grocery shopping. And it seems my poor Mother needs something every other day. ARGHHH!!!! It actually puts me in a bad mood when I have to manipulate the parking lot, the aisles in the grocery, AND the PRICES!! How do people with several children manage to buy enough to eat? Enough on that.
We must enjoy our Halloween time this week .... it is approaching FAST!
Have a great day. There are blue, almost sunny skies out there where the rain was supposed to be and my son and fiance are here visiting, so I am HAPPY!

I hear you Audrey; I about passed out with the little I bought and the price, and that was at Aldi's which is the cheapest around here. I hate getting stuck behind people who have to take the whole aisle, and then stand there and not let you around, even when they see you!
I'm with you, the sooner I'm out, the happier I am!
Home, on the couch, knitting and watching a horror movie!
I think I earned it...... ;)
In fact, I'm sure I did!!!

Grocery shopping has to be pretty close to hell. It's bad enough having to battle through the aisles, but have you ever actually counted how many times you have to handle each and every single item before you're done? Once into the cart, once onto the check out, once into your bag, then lug the whole lot to the car. Then put it in the car. Then take it out of the car. Lug it in the house. Then take it out of the bags and put it away. Argh!! It's no wonder half the time our larders are bare.

I've seen leaves that color in Michaels! We have nothing like that here in the desert. Your photos are so beautiful. I agree about the old horror films. They truly were the best. Ugh. We are working hard today putting in a wood floor in our bedroom. Hubby just noticed I was missing!!! Gotta go!

I don't mind grocery shopping that much until my mother announces she wants to go to Wal-Mart, then it's it becomes a hellish experience. I've told her she has to give a 24 hour notice before we shop there, but do you think Miss Daisy listens (even though she's almost completely deaf), Nooooo!!! Our experience here at Wal-Mart is very different from lots of other places in this country. Although, one doesn't see mullets, pants so low you see the parting of the buttocks, but we have our own style of Wal-Mart people here. Won't go into it now, but it's good fodder for my blog...just got to go next time and get pics!! So take care, loca lady, and take your squirt gun or nerf gun and do some shooting!!! I can just see you with those wild socks of yours hiding behind the frozen section shooting at all the stupidity that surrounds you!!! hahahahaha!!! Ok, need to run and get more coffee.

xxoo,
Georgina, the St. Jude lady

So what is your favorite old horror movie?? I watched the old version of "The Fly" this morning(last 45 minutes). That is a classic B film.... we used to have a water pipe in the basement of our old house that would squeak "Help Me!" just like the movie!
Creepy!
Hope you are feeling better and enjoying your Saturday.
smiles!

Hey MA....yes, unfortunately I have contemplated many times how much I have to handle every item....I thought I was the only one who did that! LOL!
But it's done, I'm done....the afternoon is shot other than cooking and I don't care. We eat for a few more days before I have to go fight the zombies again.....AAAAAAAAAAAAA......Brains......... ;)

Deborah, you have my sympathy. Been there, done that, no more. Have redone/restored too much....which is probably why I am falling apart! :)

Oh lord Georgina---I'm roaring laughing! I will NOT shop at Wally -World. I can't take it. Regular stores are enough....and I am sure you have your own unique "shoppers" as we do here...and I can't get into that either...I'd be sued and go to hell too.
I'm trying to behave, remember???? ;)
Well, it's over for a few days, thankfully.
And you have my sympathy; do you have to take nerve pills before you go???

Hey Teri,

Boy, that's a tough one....I love Bela's Dracula, the original Frankenstein, The Mummy with Karloff.....I really like the OLD ones. But I have a soft spot for the '50 B-movies too, when creative and cheap were partners....the Fly is pretty scary but I think Vincent Price in "The LAst Man On Earth" is by far the most suspenseful. That still gives me the shivers! I do love Vincent Price movies....and the Hammer Horror Flicks from the '60's.
Just watched "Exorcist: The Beginning" which proved to be much superior to the original movie. Now DH has taken over the TV so it's sports the rest of the day....thus I am hiding in the studio a bit before Kitchen Detail.....pooey...... >:(

Sorry, LOL! I first read your blog words as "on the road to beer landscapes"
I posted a notice of your blog giveaway last night on Facebook but I don't see it there this morning. I know Facebook has lots of glitches but this is my first experience with it. guess I'll post again. Today is a bright sunny day after yesterdays storm. The leaves are coming down fast.

Well Anne..... I will admit... Grocery shopping IS the one shopping that I completely enjoy with these stipulations....
1. I have a huge store to do it in as I love lots of choices of everything!
2. Money does not have to be watched.
3. I can go early in the morning when I have the store more or less to myself!!
Well... La-Di-Da....
Have a Wonderful Evening!!
Love,
Marilyn

I am afraid to really organize this but wouldn't be fun to create a deck of ATCs with the characters we all enjoy at Wally world!!! It would be a scream in so many ways. It is cold, damp and rainy and I am refusing to go out to the grocery even if it means we forage (spelling) for our dinner outside the back door and search for road kill or wild turkeys on foot...just kidding. If I had to hunt, kill ,dress and then cook my dinners I really would be a thin woman!!! Imagine and Live in Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Oh Jan!!! LOL!!! Well, the leaves would look even better after a few cold ones, eh??? (and the shopping too...)
I have been a slug today; I guess I wore myself out. There's always tomorrow for real work. Or sleeping or more knitting..... ;)

Anne.....and yes, FB is WIERD today....

Ah Marilyn....that is my *dream* shopping.....
I dream. It never happens.
I get caught on #s 1 and 2....don't even get to three, plus I don't get up that early anymore! HA!
I'm doomed!!!

OMG Mary Helen!!! We would SO get sued, but I bet it would be the funniest thing in the world.
Except I would have to go IN to the one in Kokomo, and I try to avoid that like the plague....of course, Wabash has it's own peculiarities too......hmmmmmm.....
Yeah, I'm thinking we would be SUED.
But maybe if we just focused on a bodypart as opposed to the WHOLE!!!
We aren't having dinner; we've noshed all day and I baked some cookies, have eaten too many and am miserable. And if I had to dress a turkey, it would be wearing a tailored suit and quite alive! LOL!!!

XXOO!!!
Anne....almost a Wally-Ite!!!

Oh Vanessa....Puh--LEEEEEEEZEEEEE!!!!Not Chistmas yet! I can't even get my head around Halloween being almost here! I'm just not one of those who moves fast past August. I think my body goes into slo-mo as a revolt against having every holiday shoved at me 6 months early....LOL!!!
And yes, in the day, I could have tailored a suit to fit a turkey....
NOT ANYMORE!!!! :)
No go paint something wonderful! Like a turkey in a stuffed-shirt suit!
