Lazy, Rainy Monday

........sigh........
Sleeping in is a wonderful thing, especially when you have needed it, and the sleep was good sleep. Of course, getting up and remembering that the blog post you were going to do the evening before is not up and you can't remember what it was, well, is pretty much life as usual around here.
Normally I am very meticulous about this stuff; I may even have the next day's post in the can by afternoon so I don't have to try and type AND think too much in the a.m. I like coffee and comment replies....there is something relaxing about it.
However, today is a numb-brain day; it's raining, I have a mess of work that sort of got pushed aside yesterday due to too much time spent watching a movie, starting a new pair of socks and then seeing the Yankees win. GO YANKS!!!! Then I wandered off to snoozy-poo land, never once giving a thought to the blog. Well, I did, I was going to post the Noro socks that are done but I had to try them on and couldn't get my leg hoisted up into the usual *sock photographing position*.
I am a sinner indeed.
Forgive me.
Frankly, I need forgiveness for a lot of omissions of late---people I forgot to include in something, blogs I haven't made comments on, e-mails I have not properly answered, you name it. I've sort of gone into this zone of blinders on and too much to do.
I guess, although I hate to admit it, the thought of surgery in December is weighing heavy and worse than that is the work that must, has to, absolutely NO CHOICE, needs to be out of here by the end of November.
And I am in the normal *Mid-October-Funk*, which I am sure all artists have a time of year they go through this. I should schedule it on the calender.....it would make life easier, eh?
So this is a desperation post; maybe tomorrow there will be some gleaming tidbit of humor or knowledge or fantastic art. (and where are you borrowing any of that from Anne? Hmmmm?)
Never mind......
It's the start of a new week--go enjoy it, go be creative and take advantage of the fading days before the cold of the year!
I bid you....

Pax.
P.S. And I have done it again...forgotten official WELCOMES to new followers...I am just TOAST! Welcome! Normally it's not this disorganized in blog-land....my studio? That's another story!

I think you are too hard on yourself, Anne.
We are all guilty of not replying to comments or welcoming new followers from time to time. Life gets in the way sometimes and we all understand that.
I, too, feel under pressure right now ~ I am behind on a LOT of things and it seems there will never be enough time to catch up. How did life get so out of control? I think we all have too much on our plates with little time to relax.
Take some time to relax, Anne. We still all love you even if your perfection takes a break now and then. LOL! I am amazed at how well you keep up with things on your wonderful Blog.

Hey Audrey,

Remember when we were growing up, and even when we were younger, thee was not this unbelievable pressure on everything? I used to have time to lounge, do things with friends, never carried a calender...
I've talked to other friends and they say the same thing; when did it change???

Hi Anne!!
I am about to sit down & take a try at the socks.... I really like the yarn I got... There were so many colors & types.
This a.m. we woke up to 29 degrees. Everything froze. DH had to start the car before he left to get the truck. Ah-h-h and so it begins!! Yuck!!

Anne, I just discovered your blog from Jean in Canada and love your work and feel inspired by your words. Hope you don't mind my tweeting your url. I wish you a creative week and wanted to share something I read this morning. I am taking care of my DH following a minor stroke (can a stroke ever be minor?) and trying to find sense and focus again:

I will return and wish you well. thanks for your inspiration.

Oh, yes! Childhood. It was wonderful. We didn't have much, but we were happy, relaxed, and healthy. Family came first, then friends, then everything else. I have vivid, happy, happy memories of those days. Our evenings were spent on the porch swing talking with the neighbors and embroidering while visiting. We live in a different world now with many negatives, but a lot of positives, too. We have to be thankful for those positives, right? Back then, who would have ever thought we would be blogging on a computer?? LOL!!
In spite of our pressures, LIFE IS GOOD!!!
(:

I so agree that somewhere we lost the ability to be more spontaneous. I mean, once upon a time we used to be sitting around and someone would mention road trip and we'd be off.

What if anything can I do to help when you go to surgery?

Congrats on the new followers, BTW

Your photo, as usual, is gorgeous. I was reading Smithsonian magazine this morning and they reminded people that their photo contest is ending in December. I'll bet your could find a photo to enter, you have such a fine eye.

I think the only person you need forgiveness from is yourself;-)You can't be perfect all the time! Just makes the rest of us look bad when you are.

Another friend suggested that we create a Blues Artist group as there seem to be a lot of us who are getting the blues already this season. So at least you know you aren't alone in that. Your blog posts are a bright spot in my mornings, thanks for being here so religiously and entertainingly. But if you miss a day or two here and there, that's okay too! I'll not give up on you.

Hi Marilyn,

I don't know what the temp is here but WET and COLD are sufficient descriptions. I want to crawl up under a quilt and knit!
Take it slow with the socks; I'm having trouble with the top part of mine, just because the finger tips are being stickers....typical!
There are so many beautiful sock yarns now......AI YI YI!

Hi Karen,

Tweet away!!! I haven't gotten Twitter yet because I can barely manage the blog and FB.....and life. HA!
Sorry to hear about your DH---I will definitely check the link. It just seems October is so, well, transitional. My body wants to do stuff, the mind says NO WAY.
And Welcome!

Audrey, you're right. After dinner it was the proch swing, there were real neighborhoods, TV was no big deal. Computers didn't exist (that has ups and downs!)
I probably could not FUNCTION in those halcyon days now if I had the chance....... <:)
I guess sometimes I need to learn the word NO.
And stick with it.
Life is good---I need to print it in LARGE LETTERS!!!!

Hey Leslie,

Yes, I miss the get up and just GO. Now everything is such a big deal that I stay home rather than fighting through all the twists and turns. (could be Anne needs a vacation too.....)
Pray for me when I'm gettin' cut! That's it! (or you could knit yourself some socks and think of me!!!)
I'll be okay---it just is I have procrastinated more than normal and I'm freaking out. More than normal! LOL!

Hey Jan,

I am soooooooo far from perfect that I've lost the path towards it, nor do I aspire to BE it.
I agree with the Artists Blues Group---heck, I have that other blog I haven't used; we could have a closed group for when we just need to post about being in the low times of the year.
And come up with a funky name too.
Sounds like a plan to me!!!!
You've known me long enough to know how bent I get when I have forgotten things, put things off....I have no sense sometimes...well, most of the time.
But I do like to blither on here; guess it is cheap therapy! LOL!!!
Seriously, let me know about the idea for the other blog. Invite only.

Anne - I was just rummaging through my closet and I found a box of Youthful Enthusiasm. I'll check the expiration date - but if it's still good I'll send it to you with some other items I found (they were way in the back, behind the box of glass Christmas ornaments). They are Boundless Energy, Less Responsibility, and New Joints. I think this should take care of it. I would add a little Youth to your package, but I seem to be running dangerously low myself.
Love to you - I know not one person who accomplishes more, and makes so many smile while she does it. xox Pam

OMG Pam, don't make me laugh so much or I'll pee myself, and I haven't quite hit the point of purchasing Depends......though there are days.......
Check the Oct. 10 post....I think that's the right date!
And yes, I am just getting old and it has caught up with me, so I have to rethink how to do things and what to expect. Like.....not much! LOL!!!!
I'll pay for the pkg. to be Fed Ex'd over night! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

What an impressive sky shot...in spite of the gloom! Today has been our Canadian thanksgiving..
mostly gloomy, cold day...but it was great..getting with dear friends!
Aww, Anne..it is easy to forgive you most anything now..not that we have reason to....as you're going thru the pre surgery time..
jitters, if you will. I so remember that. But I tell you..I am seeing a magnificent support group here for you! You know we are all rooting for ya! I'm glad you're finding time to just get on the sofa and knit and watch movies! there's November yet!
We love you, girl! All will be fine soon!
XOXO, gypsy

Happy Turkey Day Gypsy!!!!
We celebrated by watching the first CFL game....DH had to teach and I opted for studio time instead of football, but I have to admit, the CFL beats the NFL hands down.
Yep, I'm about as jittered as I could get. They should have kept it all a secret and just abducted me for the thing! LOL!!!
I could not live without all my on line friends...what a network!
I think I'll knit a while.....or drop stitches, as the case may be.

Be gentle with yourself ...after all you can knit socks with a flair and the work will get done with your talent for flair!!! I love your photographs and I love the award...you did pass on an award didn't you??? I get sooo confused these days of icy cold fingers racing on my back. You are an amazing woman and I look forward to seeing what you have been up to at the end of the day. Imagine Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Hope you enjoy it!
I'm confused all the time and lately it has been worse....am assuming it is nothing but stress. At least I hope.
I need the remnants of my brain somewhat functioning..... ;)
