And then it falls completely flat.
Plop.
No resuscitation possible on the original design.
If you're like me, you stow it away somewhere until one of two things happens:
1. You totally forget about it for years and then find it on a cleaning spree and dump it,
-or-
2. You shove it where you can't be disgraced by it and THEN find it on a cleaning spree and think hmmmmmmm.....possibilities here.
I've decided on option number two for this one. And anything I do along the way, I'll post. At least until it hits the point where, once again, it goes PLOP or is disgracing me...... ;-)
First off, this is a 12"x12" canvas panel. I covered it with different papers, used liberal amounts of gel medium, then started adding a bit of gesso, ink and color. And then the three images.
I'm not sure where I thought I was going with them; then or now. They are just *there*....floating around in a somewhat triangular space and not doing a thing for me. I still like them--it just needs more.
A lot more. More color, more tying in to the whole piece, more rhyme or reason with them....MORE. So that is what I am going to try and work on bit by bit, in between a couple of other things that need done, and real work. And I'll take pics and post and I really would appreciate critique as this goes along.
You won't offend me.
And besides, with most of you, I don't know where you live! LOL!!! So you can be honest and say it sucks rocks (or glass, as the case may be!) and I'll just sob a while and then put my *big-girl* panties on and get back to the art and consider your comments!!!
Let's have some fun with this one, okay?
Now go have a great day and don't forget----GO MAKE ART!!!!!

Anne, This is a great idea. We've all been here numerous times !LOL! It's going to be interesting and FUN! And I'm anxious to see where it goes.
And I want to tell you again how much I love your blog; a mixture of art and nature brought to us through your wonderful photos and a generous dash of humor. Thank you.
It will be interesting to see what you do with this piece ~ go to it, Anne. Yes, please keep us in the loop so we can see what transpires! Have fun with it.
After I see the fabulous work of art that you create from this (because I know you will), I think I'll dig out some old partially painted stuff I wasn't happy with.
You inspire us!!!!
Anne - I think we should all go open our Misfit Art Drawer and take out some poor little reject art piece, and make it 1. Worse or 2. Better. I'm going to do this - and believe me, I have PLENTY to work from. xox Pam
What about having us send you a "little something" to you and see if anything inspires you for this piece? I have no idea for suggestions, as what you do amazes me - the finished art is always something spectacular that I could never imagine....am I rambling??
Hey Anne, thanks for stopping by and giving me your best wishes and prayers...means sooo much to me. Will keep you updated on my stay in Austin...take care and God bless.
wooohooo..I guess i would like to see a face of some kind in there....subtly worked in...
just a thought...When you say canvas panel....you're not meaning a canvas on stretcher sticks? I believe thats a flat piece covered in canvas? duh? ha...been too long since i painted for real! lol!
Loved your post yesterday...We do take so much for granted....its great to take the time to appreciate the beauty around us and be quiet...and thankful..and marvel at the mysteries..

Hey all----I had one of those unexpected days; out (of printer in, meds, food, etc.), trying to get caught up, dinner in the crockpot.
I think I will answer these in tomorrows post and maybe I'll even have a decent photo too!
And no art, as I just finished up a massive task.....pffffft!!!
Plus it looks like we're going to get a storm, which means run and unplug everything.
Thanks for all the encouragement and the ideas---like I said, tomorrow, tomorrow! ;)
Glad you are working and feeling better.
I had a rough day ... like you say ...tomorrow tomorrow.
Hey Anne,
I feel a challenge coming on...
Your friend wrote: Anne - I think we should all go open our Misfit Art Drawer and take out some poor little reject art piece, and make it 1. Worse or 2. Better.
What do you think?
Love the piece BTW and where do you find the Sacred Hearts?
Somehow, yes Leslie, I think this might be a challenge!!!
I collect either real Milagros of the sacred heart, or find on-line images and snag them. It is a constant search.
Purchasing the real ones can be pricey----my friend who used to have the gallery in NOLA always kept me supplied with the small ones at reasonable prices.
I have JPEGS if you want any to work with. I think the ones on here were printed on tracing paper and then sprayed with workable fixative.
Let me know..... :)
test, please excuse me.
You're excused..... ;) LOL!!!

Talk to me Dahling!
I'm waiting, breathless...... ;-D
